U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) | Federal Acquisition Service (FAS)
Orizon provided GSA FAS with system development and IT support services to FAS customers nationwide for over 6 years. This included providing end user support to over 1100 FAS users and operational support for the GSA FAS the computing infrastructure consisting of more than 1,500 applications and 25 servers. As part of GSA’s technology migration effort, we migrated hundreds of legacy applications to the cloud and developed new enterprise systems using the Java/Oracle, Salesforce and Google platforms.
We led information systems security activities for FAS systems and oversaw the information security activities for compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Assessment and Authorization (A&A) / Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
Separately, the FAS Office of General Supplies and Services (GSS) awarded Orizon a contract to redesign and develop the GSA Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI) Knowledge Management Portal (KMP) website (strategicsourcing.gov) to improve the performance and enhance its functionality. Orizon then completely rewrote the FSSI KMP to build a solid Drupal foundation, optimized the new system, and added functionality to facilitate new security requirements and additional GSS commodity area requirements.
