Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP)
The U.S. Department of Treasury BEP is the largest producer of security documents in the United States. At BEP, Orizon served as the primary software development contractor for nearly 15 years. We migrated more than 60 legacy systems, developed over 30 enterprise collaboration applications, and maintained approximately 500 intranet sites and over 600 databases. As part of our development and release management activities, we seamlessly integrated released software into production, and managed and operated the BEP development, test, and production environments.
We led information systems security activities for FAS systems and oversaw the information security activities for compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Assessment and Authorization (A&A) / Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
On another contract, Orizon implemented Serena Dimensions to enhance the Bureau’s ITSM practices. We planned, implemented, and deployed the production environment, developed SOPs, and provided training and operational production support for the new environment. We implemented data governance and data quality capabilities across the Bureau; and supported BEP’s enterprise performance management initiative to analyze and develop organizational key performance indicators (KPIs).
Under separate contracts Orizon supports the OCIO with mobile development and point-of-sale (POS) expertise. We developed and continue to provide support for the BEP “EyeNote” application for Apple tablets and mobile devices to provide greater assistance to the blind or visually impaired in recognizing U.S. bank notes. We deployed the Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System to improve BEP’s POS store operations; and continue to support the new system.
