Mobile Solution for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing

 
For the Department of the Treasury Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Orizon developed a mobile phone application to identify Federal Reserve Notes (banknotes) to enable the blind or visually impaired to positively identify the specific denomination of a note using a mobile phone or tablet device. Orizon designed, developed, and deployed the BEP EyeNote® application (app) for the Apple iOS. The app scans a bank note and communicates its value to the user.

 

For EyeNote, we implemented advanced image recognition technology to determine a U.S. bank note’s denomination. We deployed the app on the Apple App Store and it is available as a free download. The app communicates in both English and Spanish. No data connection is required for the app to work.

 

Orizon continues to maintain and support the app to ensure interoperability with new Apple software and mobile phone and tablet hardware releases.
